I think what surprised me the most was the isolation that the judges said they experience. Who would want to watch one's every single comment when at a social event?

The other thing that surprised is the pay for the guards at the court. I have to agree with Justice Broderick. It's only a matter of time before something tragic happens.

As in every learning event we have experienced, the candor from our hosts are enlightening and encouraging. The Chief described that so many people approached the court without representation and what effect that may have for the future of the court and our society. The stakes seem clear to me. Than, he transitioned to being an advocate for change, which is encouraging. Intuitively, it seems that making productive change within the justice system would be the greatest of slopes to climb, yet he seems willing to look critically at what a change might mean.

I greatly enjoyed the openness of dialog.
